Wit

Wit, formerly Theo Wainhouse, is a DJ and producer from London, now based in Hong Kong. His sets are an analogue mix of acid house and Detroit techno, sometimes uplifting, sometimes dark, often unexpected. “I like drama,” he says. “I like hard-hitting chord progressions, I like rave, I like meaty basslines.”

He came up in London, where he held a residency at XOYO, played the main rooms at Fabric and Ministry of Sound, and spent five years presenting a specialist show on KISS FM. From 2010 to 2015 he was managed by SBTV founder Jamal Edwards, a run that took in a 25-hour set at Decadance in Ghent and a slot on Glastonbury's Sonic stage straight after Fatboy Slim, one of ten Glastonbury bookings.

In 2019 he paused DJing to run the lasers for Dixon's residency at Pacha, Ibiza. When the pandemic closed the clubs he established Sky High Studios, a private writing and production space in Slovakia, and spent the next five years producing for other artists and releasing his own music as Church of Acid, most recently on the Berlin label Nie Wieder Schlafen.

Since moving to Hong Kong he has been setting up a new studio and bringing London’s underground sound to the city. He is taking bookings across Hong Kong and East Asia, with selected international dates.
